Play Melodial through your Google Nest, Google Home, or Nest Mini using Bluetooth. Works with iPhone and Android. Works with: Google Nest Mini, Nest Audio, Google Home, and Google Home Mini.

What You'll Need

Before you start: Make sure your Google Nest / Google Home is plugged in, powered on, and connected to WiFi. You'll also need the Melodial app or web player on your phone.

The Quickest Method

Just say: "Hey Google, Bluetooth pairing"

Your Google Nest will enter pairing mode. Then open your phone's Bluetooth settings and tap the device name to connect. That's it for most people.

Full Step-by-Step: Connect on iPhone/iPad

1. Say "Hey Google, Bluetooth pairing" — Google will respond with "I'm ready to pair". The device is now discoverable.

2. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

3. Tap Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

4. Wait for your Google Nest to appear in the list (it may show as "Google Nest Mini", "Google Home", or a similar name).

5. Tap it to connect. Google will say something like "Connected" or "Paired to [your phone name]".

6. Open Melodial and press play — music will now come through your Google Nest.

Next time: Say "Hey Google, Bluetooth" to reconnect automatically.

Full Step-by-Step: Connect on Android

1. Say "Hey Google, Bluetooth pairing" — Google will respond with "I'm ready to pair".

2. Open Settings → Connected devices → Bluetooth (the exact path varies by phone brand).

3. Turn on Bluetooth and tap "Pair new device" (or "Scan" on some phones).

4. Tap your Google Nest in the list of available devices.

5. Google will confirm "Connected" or "Paired".

6. Open Melodial and press play — audio will route through the Google Nest.

Next time: On Android, it may reconnect automatically when Bluetooth is on and the speaker is in range.

Alternative Method: Using the Google Home App

1. Open the Google Home app (download from Google Play if needed).

2. Tap your device → Settings (gear icon) → Audio → Paired Bluetooth Devices.

3. Tap Enable Pairing Mode.

4. Then connect from your phone's Bluetooth settings as described above.

Troubleshooting

My phone can't find the Google Nest: Make sure the speaker is in pairing mode — say "Hey Google, Bluetooth pairing" again. Pairing mode lasts about 2 minutes. Also try turning your phone's Bluetooth off and on. Make sure you're within 10 metres of the speaker.

It connects but no sound comes out: Say "Hey Google, volume 5" to check the volume. On iPhone, open Control Centre, long-press the music widget, and tap the AirPlay icon to make sure audio is routing to the Google Nest. Make sure Melodial is actually playing.
