Melodial plays through your existing speakers using your device as the source. There are several ways to connect depending on your setup.
Bluetooth The simplest option for most venues. Open your device's Bluetooth settings, pair with your speaker, then open Melodial and press play. The audio will stream directly to your speaker. For best results, keep your device within range of the speaker and make sure no other devices are trying to connect to the same speaker simultaneously.
AirPlay (Apple devices) If you have an AirPlay-compatible speaker or amplifier, swipe to open Control Centre on your iPhone or iPad, tap the AirPlay icon, and select your speaker. Then open Melodial and play — the audio will route through your selected speaker automatically.
Wired connection (3.5mm aux) If you prefer a wired setup, connect a 3.5mm aux cable from your device's headphone jack to the speaker or amplifier input. This is the most reliable option for uninterrupted playback as it requires no wireless connection.
Through an amplifier or PA system For venues with a built-in sound system, connect your device to the amplifier or mixing desk using a 3.5mm to RCA cable or 3.5mm to XLR cable depending on your input type. Your device then acts as the music source.
Tips for reliable playback
- Keep your device charged or plugged in during business hours
- Avoid letting the screen lock or sleep if you notice playback interruptions
- If multiple staff members use Melodial, make sure only one device is connected to the speaker at a time to avoid conflicts
