Interruptions to playback are usually caused by one of three things: your internet connection, your device, or how the audio is being sent to your speaker. Here's how to work through it.
Check your internet connection Melodial streams music continuously, so a weak or unstable connection is the most common cause of dropouts. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi rather than mobile data, and if possible, move closer to your router. If other streaming services are also cutting out, the issue is likely with your internet connection rather than Melodial.
If you're using the web player Try clearing your browser cache and doing a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac). If the problem persists, try a different browser or switch to the Melodial app.
If you're using the Melodial app Try logging out and back in, or reinstalling the app. If dropouts happen regularly, you can download tracks directly to your device by tapping the download icon on any track — downloaded tracks will play without interruption even if your connection is unstable.
If you're casting to a speaker via Bluetooth or AirPlay The issue may be between your device and the speaker rather than with Melodial itself. Try the following:
- Move your device closer to the speaker
- Disconnect and reconnect via Bluetooth or AirPlay
- Restart the speaker and reconnect
- Restart your device
Some speakers also drop their connection if another device tries to connect — if someone else in your venue has the speaker paired to their phone, that can interrupt playback.
If none of the above helps Contact us at hello@melodial.com and let us know what device you're using, how you're playing the music (app, web, speaker type), and how often the dropouts occur. The more detail you can give us, the faster we can help.
